Smoke Signals, the latest message from the Pack 156 Cubmaster:
Blue & Gold Banquet
It’s almost here!!!
The Blue & Gold Banquet is this Saturday, 5-8pm, in the Christian Life Center, at the First United Methodist Church in Cookeville. This is a covered dish (pot-luck) dinner, ceremony and birthday party for the Cub Scouts (BSA), games, crafts and all. Please bring the entire family!
"What should I bring?"
- Your Scout in uniform, and of course, the entire rest of your family
- A dish to share, and serving utensils (enough to feed your family + 2)
- Any "Scouting for Food", food donations you have collected
- A dessert that you and your Scout made, to enter in the Golden Spoon competition / fund raiser.
- A lot of energy and a big smile! Fun and food are guaranteed!
The Pack will provide drinks, plates, utensils and cups.
Remember, the Golden Spoon competition is both a fund raiser for the Pack, and a challenge to see who can make the best home-made dessert. Our theme is "Olympic Camping". Be creative with it! A marble jar will be placed in front of each dessert, and marbles will be exchanged for a $0.25/each donation. The Scout whose dessert earns the most marbles will be awarded the GOLDEN SPOON! You may vote for as many desserts as you like, and/or you can put a fist full of marbles in the one that is clearly the best! This is intended to be a parent / Scout event, where you get to spend time baking with your Scout. Fun and tasty learning!! By the way, after the voting is done and a winner is named, we will all share in eating the desserts! It’s a triple win event!
Can you help with set-up? Volunteers will be setting up tables and decorations starting at 6pm Friday night (Feb. 7th). Games, crafts, and more decorating will start Saturday morning at 10:30am. Any help would be appreciated!
See you Saturday for this big birthday party event. Rain or shine! Oh yeah, this one is INDOORS... :-)
Yours In Scouting,

Our Mission: To prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetime, by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
Cub Scout Pack 156 was chartered in January 1956 by Capshaw School in Cookeville, Tennessee. We have been serving families in the city of Cookeville and the Upper Cumberland Region for over 50 years.
We meet once a month for pack meetings at the Capshaw cafeteria. Dens meet on weeks when we do not have a Pack meeting.
Pack 156 is a very family-oriented pack. We emphasize building confidence, developing character, and great lifetime memories in our scouts. We participate in a lot of activities throughout the year -- check our Calendar page to see what we're up to!
